TuneFlex Aux (2006)

Discontinued

What iPod accessories is the TuneFlex compatible with?
The TuneFlex does feature a pass-through for the dock connector on the bottom of the iPod Nano. This means that most iPod accessories that connect to your iPod via only the dock connector can be used in conjunction with the TuneFlex. Simply connect them to the dock connector pass-through on the bottom of the TuneFlex cradle.

Compatible accessories include the AirClick with Dock Connector, the SmartDeck with Dock Connector, and the iTrip with Dock Connector.

Is the TuneFlex compatible with my iTrip Nano?

Unfortunately, the iTrip Nano cannot be used in conjunction with the TuneFlex. Although the TuneFlex does have a dock connector pass-through, it does not have a pass-through for the iPod Nano's headphone jack. The iTrip Nano uses this headphone jack, and when the iPod Nano is attached to the TuneFlex, there is no way to access the jack. The TuneFlex is fully compatible, however, with the iTrip with Dock Connector.

What iPods can I use with the Tuneflex?

The TuneFlex for iPod was designed for 4th Generation iPods, iPod Mini, and the 5th Generation iPod Video.

Does the TuneFlex have a dock connector pass-through?

Yes. This pass-through allows you to attach the Griffin iTrip with Dock Connector or the AirClick with Dock Connector.

Even if you attach an iTrip or AirClick, you will not be able to control the iPod's volume from the iPod itself. This is because the dock connector port is a line level output, and you will need to control the volume from your car stereo.

You can control the output from the iPod if you're using the tape adapter, which connects to the iPod's headphone jack and there has an adjustable output.

Can I control the volume from the iPod itself?

It depends. Even if you attach an iTrip or AirClick, you will not be able to control the iPod's volume from the iPod itself. This is because the dock connector port is a line level output, and you will need to control the volume from your car stereo.

You can control the output from the iPod if you're using the tape adapter, which connects to the iPod's headphone jack and therefore has an adjustable output.

How does the TuneFlex hold various sizes of iPods?

The TuneFlex for iPod has an adjustable back, allowing you to securely dock your 5th Generation iPod Video, 4th Generation iPods, and iPod Mini. Just turn the knob to adjust the depth of the dock, and your iPod will be held safely in place.

Does the TuneFlex come with a cassette adapter?

Yes, the TuneFlex is packaged with a cassette adapter you can connect to the iPod's headphone jack.

Or, you could connect the cassette to the 3.5mm jack on the TuneFlex itself, and flip the TuneFlex's high-low switch if you need a little extra (or a little less) volume.

How does the TuneFlex stay upright?

The TuneFlex features a piece of grey rubber located around the power plug that holds the plug tightly in the outlet.

What do the lights on the TuneFlex indicate?

When the TuneFlex is green, it indicates an iPod is connected. An amber light indicates the iPod is charging.

Is my 4th Generation iPod compatible?

Yes, but you will need to remove the clear acrylic piece of the TuneFlex first. There are two holes in the clear piece that fit over 2 pegs on the black base. If you pry the clear part up over those holes, the clear acrylic part will pop right off. Now the 4th Generation iPod should fit without a problem.
